Bronze-Coloured Privacy Film for Large South-Facing Windows

This bronze-coloured one-way mirror film protects you from prying eyes during the day while allowing you to continue looking outside without obstruction. However, the metallised surface naturally darkens the view. At night, when the lights are switched on, the reflection appears to a lesser extent on the inside. As an additional benefit, this mirror film also provides maximum heat reduction. Its effectiveness is particularly noticeable on south-facing windows and doors. This mirror film darkens the room by approximately 30–35%. This can be quite noticeable in rooms that do not naturally receive plenty of light.

When does the one-way mirror film work during the day?
One-way mirror films only work as long as it is brighter outside than inside. When the lights are switched on, people can see inside again. The same applies if, for example, light enters through a window on the opposite side. To provide privacy, it must therefore be darker inside than outside. In all other situations, people can see inside, and it may even be difficult to see outside because the reflection always appears on the brighter side.

Not effective for interior applications
Mirror films do not work between interior rooms when the level of brightness is similar on both sides. For the reflection to appear on one side, that side must be significantly brighter than the reverse side. This is generally only the case with exterior windows when there is daylight outside.

Due to its bronze-coloured tint, this one-way mirror film absorbs a considerable amount of solar energy (57%). When installed internally, you can feel this heat as soon as you move close to the film. This is the energy that would otherwise enter the room unhindered and heat the air. Without the film, the room heats up gradually; with the film, the solar energy is stopped at the window pane.
